Orlando Magic preseason schedule announced

The 2019-2020 version of the Orlando Magic will first take the court on Oct. 5.

That’s when the Magic, coming off their first playoff season in seven years, will open their preseason schedule against the Spurs in San Antonio. Following that will be two road games against Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks. The Magic then open a three-game homestand with games against the potentially Kyrie Irving-less Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers and what remains of their Big 4, and the post-Wade Miami Heat.

The bigger concern for Orlando fans is who will be on the court for the Magic come October. We will have a better idea in the coming weeks when the Magic’s free-agents-to-be, Nikola Vucevic and Terrence Ross, test the market (I’m convinced both will be back, but more on that after the NBA Draft).

The wild cards for the Magic season will of course be Mo Bamba, who was limited to 47 games during his rookie year due to a stress fracture in his leg, and Markelle Fultz, whose time-frame for a return to the court is yet to be publicly announced…

And we are about 24 hours away from finding out who the Magic will select with the 16th pick in the NBA Draft. For more insight on the prospects that could be available to the Magic, be sure to check out the great draft profiles our Aaron Goldstone has done.

Should be a very interesting offseason. Only 108 days until Magic basketball!
